Thinner, Faster MacBook Pro Announced
Apple today upgraded their MacBook Pro line of metal-clad lap warmers with new features, more speed and less thick. Still priced from $1999.999±.02, these new portables sport a faster double-wide chip, more RAM, larger capacity drives and a nice closet to store sweaters during the warm winter months.
While maintaining the nominal fifteen and seventeen inch screen sizes the new computers are now only an inch thick. While this impairs their ability to stop heavy heavy artillery rounds, users should still be safe from small arms fire and casual explosive devices. (Batteries not included)
The MacBooks Pro were due for an upgrade, they had gotten too hot to handle and only ran software faster than any human could perceive. With this added horsepower and the stock 1-gig and 2 gig RAM configurations Apple fans will now be able to complete a task before it is even begun. There have been reports of an early prototype going back in time up to six hours and while this lead to some data loss, the testers involved scored so many geek points that the shortcoming is being overlooked.
A FireWire 800 port has been added to the existing FireWire 400 port which gives the user yet another place to not plug in a new iPod. Grimace Technology of Harriss Florida has recently announced plans to ship a 400-800 adaptor that will allow two FireWire 400 devices to connect simultaneously to a single FIreWire 800 port. No one has any idea why, but it sounded good at the meeting.
At a mere 5.6 pounds, the new 15″ MacBook Pro weighs less than any other laptop weighing 5.5 pounds. For users of the previous model, Sony’s Lithium -Napalm batteries can be ordered as an additional cost item that includes insurance and a special flame retardant designer case.
Shipping dates and availably of these new models has not been announced but is expected sometime last week.
